Article 1 (Purpose)

These Terms govern the conditions and procedures for using Owl Letter - Gentle Weather, formerly Malgeum (“the App”), provided by Supervillain Labs Inc. (“the Company”).

Article 2 (Services)

The App may provide:

• weather, air quality, UV, and estimated pollen information for current and saved places;
• weather-based clothing, umbrella, exercise, ventilation, and commute guidance;
• hourly and weekly forecasts, Home or Lock Screen widgets, and optional alerts;
• weather diary, personality and prediction features, share cards, and performance information in supported Korean regions;
• weather messages, invitations, connections, and server notices;
• one-time anonymous note exchanges and preset reactions with new people, optional POST BOX public letters, and messaging with existing connections;
• optional AI weather questions, diary interpretation, personality results, and letter drafts; and
• free and Premium art themes, subscriptions, and advertising for free-tier users.

Article 3 (Agreement and Anonymous Account)

• By downloading and using the App, you agree to these Terms.
• You must be at least 14 years old to use the App. Anonymous Owl Notes exchanged with new people are separately limited to users who are at least 16. A user who is at least 14 but under 16 may continue using other App features that are otherwise available.
• You must provide accurate information during any age check. If we determine that you are under 14 or supplied false age information, we may restrict access and delete the account and associated data in accordance with applicable law and our Privacy Policy. If you are under 16, we restrict writing anonymous Owl Notes to new people.
• No email or phone-number sign-up is required, but Firebase may automatically create an anonymous account for server-backed features. You may delete the anonymous account and associated data from Settings → Delete account and data.

Article 4 (Use of the Service)

• Core weather features are free, while some themes and features may require a subscription.
• Weather and air-quality data comes from external sources including OpenWeatherMap, Open-Meteo, and the AirKorea enrichment proxy and may differ from actual conditions.
• You must not abuse the service or invitations, violate another person's rights or privacy, or attempt unauthorized access.
• We may restrict abusive or unlawful use when necessary for operations, security, or policy compliance.

Article 5 (Subscriptions and Payment)

• Premium subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and renew automatically unless canceled.
• Cancellation and refunds follow the respective store's subscription and refund policies.
• After cancellation, Premium access continues until the end of the paid period.
• Deleting an Owl Letter account or uninstalling the App does not cancel a store subscription.

Article 6 (Location Information)

• The App requests while-in-use location permission for local weather. Manual city search remains available without permission.
• When an anonymous UID is active and current-location permission is granted, the App may update the Company backend with latitude, longitude, and place name at launch regardless of individual notification-toggle settings.
• You may revoke permission in system settings and delete location already stored on the server through account and data deletion. See the Privacy Policy.

Article 7 (Advertising)

• Free-tier users may see AppLovin MAX banner ads. Google AdMob and disclosed partners may provide ads through mediation.
• Premium subscribers see no in-app ads.
• Advertisers are responsible for advertised products, services, and transactions with users.
• See section 3 of the Privacy Policy for personalized-ad and privacy choices.

Article 8 (AI and Letter Features)

• AI output can be inaccurate or unsuitable and is not professional medical, safety, or legal advice.
• You review, edit, and send letters and shared content yourself. You are responsible for submitted content and another person's personal information.
• Do not submit unlawful content or sensitive information that is unnecessary for the request.

Article 8-2 (Owl Notes and User Content)

• While a real-user match is pending, the App may provide a post-office notice or a clearly labeled AI Postmaster response. It is not a reply from another user and does not replace or guarantee matching.
• Owl Notes let users exchange a short user-written note once with another pseudonymous user. People who are not already connected may respond only with preset reactions supplied by the App. Free-text messaging is available only between people who have formed a mutual connection by accepting an Owl friend request or invitation.
• When you accept the current disclosure and choose Let the letter fly in the weather-based letter composer, the letter body, age range, public gender, and weather personality may be shown without your nickname to multiple users in POST BOX. A private gender and your exact date of birth, nickname, photo, bio, and personality insights are not shown on the public-letter card. A local copy left on the device after successful publication and the server-backed public post are separate records. Letters published under an older disclosure and regular stranger notes do not include these author details, and a public letter may remain visible until matching, expiry, or withdrawal.
• To write an anonymous note to a new person, you must confirm that you are at least 16 and expressly accept the current version of the user-content rules and zero-tolerance policy before composing. You are responsible for the content you submit.
• You must not send sexual, violent, illegal, child-exploitative, hateful, discriminatory, harassing, threatening, fraudulent, or spam content; another person's personal information or contact details; or content that infringes intellectual-property rights.
• To operate the service, the Company may store, transmit, and display user content and apply safety measures including prohibited-word filtering, report review, blocking, visibility restrictions, sending suspension, or deletion.
• Reporting may close the exchange and prevent future rematching with the reported user. Repeated reports or violations may result in temporary or permanent restriction from Owl Notes.
• Delivery or matching is not guaranteed. Content already viewed or separately saved by another user cannot be retrieved merely by dismissing it or deleting your account.
• Do not include personal information, contact details, precise location, financial information, or sensitive information in notes or messages.

Article 9 (Intellectual Property)

• Rights in App design, art themes, illustrations, software, and other content belong to the Company or their lawful owners.
• You may post results created through sharing features for personal use.
• You may not commercially reproduce, distribute, or modify App content without permission.

Article 10 (Disclaimer)

• We do not guarantee the accuracy or timeliness of weather, air-quality, UV, or estimated pollen information.
• Action and health-related guidance is informational and does not replace medical advice, emergency alerts, or official authorities.
• Service may be interrupted by external data, networks, devices, natural events, or other causes reasonably outside our control.
• To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for decisions based solely on informational forecasts or generated guidance.

Article 11 (Changes to and Suspension of the Service)

We may change or discontinue all or part of the service for operational or technical reasons. Material changes will be announced through the App, an update, or the store listing.

Article 12 (Changes to These Terms)

We may amend these Terms and announce the effective date. Continued use after an amendment constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by applicable law.

Article 13 (Governing Law and Jurisdiction)

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Unless mandatory consumer-protection law provides otherwise, disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the court having jurisdiction over the Company's principal place of business.
